Apparently, all of this is essential.

It doesn’t take long for the bathroom essentials to add up. Skincare, makeup, hair products, medicine, and all the other little things used throughout the day can quickly become a collection of their own. A toiletry bag keeps them together at home and gives them somewhere to go when it’s time to pack, whether that means an overnight stay, a weekend away, or a longer trip with considerably more on the packing list.

Patchwork gives leftover pieces of fabric another place to go, bringing prints and colors from different projects together in new combinations. In Tagalog, tagni-tagni refers to pieces of cloth joined together, much like the scraps pieced together across each bag. As the available fabrics change, so does the mix, giving each batch a different assortment of patterns and letting the scraps themselves shape what comes together.

There’s something satisfying about having the getting-ready part of the packing list handled. Instead of toiletries finding whatever space is left between clothes, shoes, and everything else, they can stay together from the moment the suitcase is packed until it’s time to come home. A cosmetic or toiletry bag may only take care of one category, but it happens to be a category filled with an impressive number of little things.
